"In a perfect world we’d always be able to send Mikey and Rebecca out to play in the garden," say Tina and John Nunn.

"But this is Manchester, not Marbella, and we can’t always count on the weather.

We decided that by building on top of the garage at the side of the house and topping it off with an inclined roof with VELUX roof windows we could install a lovely play room right next to Mikey’s bedroom.

Just three months down the line the kids’ playroom is up and running.

We’ve put table tennis in there for them and a TV and they love having their friends around to share their new-found space and freedom.

What with the kids occupied upstairs, John and I are are enjoying more space and freedom too.

And who knows? When the children have grown up and left home their playroom can become my study - although John’s already saying he wants to turn it into a playroom of his own with a pool table and a mini-bar!"
