A home is where the art is
Rosemary Beaton and her family share their beautiful Renfrewshire home with the fruits of Rosemary’s passion for painting.
Her bold, vibrant works of art are everywhere. But the house, near Glasgow, is much more than a gallery for her pictures.
It’s a functional family home – and it doubles as her workspace, as many canvases-in-progress testify.
"For me, the most important thing I need when I’m working is bright, natural light." says Rosemary.
"Our architect, Donald Maclean, really helped us to turn this place around. When we moved in it was a pretty nondescript bungalow with rooms that were rather gloomy to say the least. Now, thanks to VELUX roof windows we’ve converted the loft into four wonderfully bright new bedrooms and a bathroom.
It’s freed-up downstairs for quality living space and – my pride and joy – a studio into which daylight cascades through five VELUX roof windows right above my easel." Sounds like a masterpiece to us.
