The flat roof extension that went a little further

What do you do when you want extra space without having to move home? You do the same as Kate and Ian Dorment from Hove. You move out.

Adding a flat roof extension to their family home was just the transformation they were looking for. It not only gave them the desired extra space. It changed the way they eat and entertain.

“My husband Ian and I remortgaged and had a lovely extension added to the side of our existing kitchen. Which in effect, created a completely new home for us.

We’ve put decking outside so we can enjoy alfresco cocktails in the summer. And the new VELUX Flat Roof System we added means we get the benefit of all available daylight until the shadows fall.”

“We got tired of always moving our dinner guests through into the living room after a lovely meal in our rather cramped kitchen/dining area” admits Kate.

“What we really wanted was space to spread out around a bigger table. And unwind with good chat and a nice bottle of wine at the end of an evening.“

As you can see, the bright and airy kitchen and dining area is now the perfect place for a spot of entertaining.

As well as adding a few extra square feet, the new extension has added substantial value to Kate and Ian’s home.
